11. I will inform my family members (including children whether they are playing in the game or not as well as spouses, parents, grandparents, etc) that they are subject to the WWBBA Basketball Code of Conduct and of the consequences for failing to comply.
Coaches
1. I will behave in a manner that demonstrates that I recognize and support the fact that this is a community-based, youth sports organization for the benefit of all the players and their families. Our primary goals are to help the players to have fun while teaching them good sportsmanship, teamwork and the game of basketball. I fully understand that my “win/loss” record as a WWBBA basketball coach is not what is important.
2. I will support the efforts of all players equally.
3. I will not “run up the score” (i.e. defeat an opponent by more than 30 points).
4. I will support and abide by all the rules, including playing time requirements, established by the age coordinator.
5. I will council and appropriately discipline players for unsportsmanlike conduct including “trash talking” and taunting.
Anyone who fails to behave in accordance with the code of conduct while attending, coaching, officiating, or participating in a youth sports event will be subject to disciplinary action, including but not limited to the following in any order or combination at the sole discretion of the WWBBA Board of Directors:
1. Verbal warning issued by the league or organization.
2. Written warning issued by the league or organization.
3. Suspension or immediate ejection from a youth sports event issued by the league or organization or by someone who is authorized to issue such suspension or ejection by the league or organization.
4. Suspension from multiple youth sports events by the league or organization or by the appropriate official authorized to issue such suspension by the league or organization.
5. Season suspension or multiple season suspension issued by the league or organization.
6. Referral to law enforcement authorities.
Note: A suspension by one organization may be carried over to another organization. The most severe consequence may occur after the 1st infraction and shall be in the unrestricted discretion of the WWBBA Board of Directors.
